Man accuses sub Inspector of beating him in Doda, 'Police deny charges' | KNO

DODA ,NOV 13 (KNO) : A 55 -year-old man has alleged that he was brutally beaten by police sub Inspector posted in Bhalla post of Bhaderwah some days back after a baseless complaint and FIR was lodge against him by his some villagers on the dispute of a water connection . The police, however, have denied the charges. Nazir Ahmed , a resident of Shahpora Bhalla in Bhaderwah , alleged illegal harassment , cruelty and human right violations by the Sub Inspector of Bhalla police post and claimed that some people of his village lodge an illegal FIR against him on 8th November and after that Sub Inspector arrested him and ruthlessly beaten him in the premises of police post Bhalla and due to merciless beating by wooden rod he had received serious injury in his left leg and other parts of the body . He alleged worse type of brutalities in the police custody at Bhalla and also alleged mental harassment to his wife and also informed that he had also filled a written complaint to senior police officers of Doda . Nazir said he was released on 9th November on bail and also alleged that he is being coerced to migrate from Shahpura Khellani ,Bhalla along with his children's and alleged that Sub Inspector is involved in favoritism and nepotism . He alleged that unbearable miseries , torture and harassment and humiliation by the said Sub Inspector of police Post Bhalla and said the acts of omissions and commissions by the In charge Police Post Bhalla are penal in nature entailing punishment under law of land . He demanded probe from the state government and senior Police officers into the matter and suitable action against the said Sub Inspector . When contacted a Police officer denied all allegations and said to save himself from police investigation he ( Nazir ) is trying to defame the police (KNO)
